Death Hollow (Utah)
Death Hollow is a lovely canyon with a clear creek and a lot of vegetation at the base of high sandstone walls. Although it is a very nice place, it is seldom visited as it
needs some effort to get there : a long walk along the Escalante River or a dangerous sneak route to get to its southern end (I hiked the both during previous years),
or via the Boulder Mail Trail to get to its northern section (as we made it in July 2006). Boulder Mail Trail is quite long with some boring sections, but the last part
is really spectacular when it drops into Death Hollow and then it is so rewarding to wander, photograph and rest along the creek.
