Coyote Buttes South (Arizona)
Coyote Buttes South doesn't have an iconic highlight such as The Wave in Coyote Buttes North. It is nonetheless one of the
jewels of the Southwest,
with its many colorful and unusual rock formations, numerous teepees and great views. This area is protected by a permit system.
I include in this section the amazing and recently "discovered" site of White Pocket, which is close from Coyote Buttes South but still outside of the permit area.
To visit these places, a 4WD vehicule is mandatory because it is only accessible via dirt tracks with long patches of deep sand.
